you provide us with your details and we'll auto-complete your details on each applicable letter. once you've checked the documents, you can save, print and sign them at your convenience.
we also provide instructions on where to send or take them and what to include. then sit back and relax, because that's it: you're done. Now you have more time to enjoy married life.

what if there's an organization I need that isn't available on the site?
it's simple. just click on the submit a form' button, enter the name of the organization you are looking for and if it's available we'll have it up within one to two business days. we're constantly adding new organizations, so don't fret if you don't see something you're looking for...we'll get you what you need in no time!

how much are each of the packages and what is included?
the standard package costs R299 incl. vat and includes all government forms plus three additional forms of your choice. government forms include those for your green i.d. book, passport, voter registration and driver's license. the premium package costs R399, including vat, and includes unlimited access to our database, including financial companies, retail, utilities, mobile service providers, loyalty programs, bond lenders, insurance providers, security companies, subscriptions and medical aid.

what if i get two packages as gifts? can i return one?
unfortunately no, but you can transfer one of your gift cards to a friend.

i want to buy a package for a gift. If I buy the standard package, can they upgrade if they like?
absolutely. they can upgrade their package if they want to at anytime.

when i purchase a gift card, how will I get it?
you will have a choice of printing it, sending it via email or both. you can also choose a delivery date of the email (if no date is specified, it will be delivered immediately after purchase). there are no shipping charges or delivery fees.

will my personal information be kept secure?
security isn't something we take lightly. you will need an individual password to access your private information. please review our privacy guarantee for futher details.

what is the difference between a form and a personal notification letter?
not all organizations have a formal process for name changes. in these cases, we'll create a personal letter for you as well as provide you directions for the submission process.

what countries are the i'm a mrs packages available in?
'i'm a mrs' is currently available in south africa, the united kingdom and canada, and will soon be expanding to the united states and australia. for more information, drop us a line on the contact us form.

what if I just want to hyphenate my name?
you still need to notify all the necessary organizations. even a hyphen requires you to change your name.

when can i start to change my name?
you can start the process anytime you like, but you can't notify all your organizations until it's official. most organizations require a copy of your marriage license, which means you need to say 'i do' before you complete the process.

do you have a different package for same-sex marriages?
no...you can select the package that best suits your needs, follow all the instructions and voila...your name change is complete. in south africa, there are some additional forms that are required for a same sex marriage but we have included them in the standard package to make sure that your name change is straight forward.

what are my options for post-wedding name change?
some women simply take their husband’s last name and relinquish their maiden name. some will keep their maiden name and use their husband's name with a hyphen or a space in between them. others will use their husband's last name for all things personal but still use their maiden name for work purposes. use the option that best suits you. you're a mrs now.

does i'm a mrs help me change my name legally?
only if you've gone through the legal process of changing your name with government officals. name change through marriage is not a legal name change and can be reversed at any time. to legally change your name you will need to seek legal council. once your name has been changed legally, i'm a mrs can help you notify all the organizations you belong that your name has changed.

what organizations should i notify first?
i'm a mrs recommends starting with all government organizations, specifically your green identity book followed by your passport and drivers licence followed by financial institutions. please note, if you're changing your passport and airline tickets have been purchased with your maiden name will have to be changed and charges will be incurred.

why can't i'm a mrs send through the name changes on my behalf?
name changes are considered by most companies and governmental bodies as the easiest way to commit fraud. as such, many of the more official bodies will insist on seeing or speaking to you in person. as a means of safeguarding against identity theft and protecting you. home affairs is particulary strict and whilst you can download official forms on the internet, they only accept originals which you get in home affairs offices. although it can be time consuming, we think it worth it!

So where do I start?
start with your green identity book and driver’s license. once those are changed, they will be useful as identification for changing your name on other important documents.
we also recommend making certified copies of your marriage certificate and old green i.d. book. currently home affairs is taking about 2 months to process new i.d. book. we have found that most companies will settle for a certified copy of your old i.d. book and your marriage certificate.
you will find that almost every record can be changed by fax/email; some are as simple as a phone call. before you start, commit to a complete change of records to avoid confusion later on — and have plenty of extra copies of your marriage license ready to mail. when faxing documentation through, we do recommend that you follow with a phone call to confirm receipt to save your self aggravation later.
